Interview with Duna Cho : Frank Scott: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?. Duna Cho : This design is to use LED lighting in the wearable paper clothing. .Frank Scott: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?. Duna Cho : It is focused in using color and intensity of LED lighting and fixing it on the garment. It is for converting lights to sense of human emotion.
.Frank Scott: What are your future plans for this award winning design?. Duna Cho : It is to develop LED lighting as a decorative fashion art. .Frank Scott: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?. Duna Cho : 3 months .Frank Scott: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?. Duna Cho : Because lighting with pattern and color affects human emotion. It can make them smile. .Frank Scott: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?. Duna Cho : It is possible to sell or produce them myself. Leasing the production rights can be considered. .Frank Scott: What made you design this particular type of work?. Duna Cho : LED lighting and paper textiles are main products in my province. .Frank Scott: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?. Duna Cho : sensing brain waves to cotrol something. reading humna motion to make light pattern or move the wall. .Frank Scott: Who is the target customer for his design?. Duna Cho : fo drivers, computer or moblie phone users and designing a building. .Frank Scott: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?. Duna Cho : It is a wearable real clothing and can be produced by fabric with the same pattern. .Frank Scott: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?. Duna Cho : Thank you means sharing good in human life. .Frank Scott: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?. Duna Cho : The same method of making clothing; sewing, dying, knitting. And paper tapes and gluing for paper materials and LED lightings.
.Frank Scott: What is the most unique aspect of your design?. Duna Cho : Different patterns and colors of LED lights can be installed. .Frank Scott: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?. Duna Cho : LED lighting was advised from Hanmyung Lee who is a researcher at KOPTILED Convergence research center in Gwangju.
.Frank Scott: What is the role of technology in this particular design?. Duna Cho : Paper clothing can be worn several times and can be work as a decorative work. Heat of bulb and weight of lighting devices are considered. .Frank Scott: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?. Duna Cho : Researches about LED lighting for medical, art works. .Frank Scott: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?. Duna Cho : Electricity and weight of LED lighting, wrinkles on the paper.

Duna Cho : To share the work. .Frank Scott: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?. Duna Cho : Paper clothing is well matched with LED lighting. Lights can be designed as one parts of clothing elements. .Frank Scott: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?. Duna Cho : Lights affect human emotion. The lighting clothing is to give people emotional response. .
